Solar Thermal
Save Energy has already carried out hundreds of Solar Thermal Installations in Dorset, Hampshire and across the South of England.
Solar Thermal Hot Water Systems are now increasingly efficient, allowing you to significantly reduce the amount of gas, oil or electricity required to provide hot water to your home. They are also extremely viable and effective for the heating of swimming pools.
As leading solar thermal installers, Save Energy can design and tailor your solar thermal system to the exact requirements of your property - providing an efficient, durable system that will produce up to 70% of your domestic hot water requirement, reduce your reliance on polluting fossil fuels and save you money for years to come...
Our solar thermal hot water systems, from leading brand manufacturers with proven and accredited efficiency and durability, come with a 2 year Parts & Labour Warranty. Depending on the type of solar thermal collector or panel you have chosen, they also offer up to a 15-year Manufacturers Warranty. They require very little maintenance and consist of three main components: solar panels (or 'collectors'), the heat transfer system and a twin coil hot water cylinder.
Solar Thermal Collectors are installed on your roof (preferably a South-facing elevation) to collect maximum heat from the sun's radiation. The heat transfer system uses this energy to heat the water in your new solar thermal twin-coil hot water cylinder. This highly efficient cylinder stores your hot water and supplies it for later use.
We consider a range of factors when designing your optimum solar thermal system. These will be assessed during your site survey and includes the area of a south-facing roof (East / West can also be sufficient), your existing water heating system and your budget. Our experienced solar thermal consultants will discuss your options frankly and thoroughly - they will also be on hand to answer any questions before, during and after your solar thermal installation.
Solar Thermal Installations generally take between 1 - 3 days and should not disrupt the day-to-day running of your home or business any more than other conventional trades. Normally, following an initial survey on your property and subsequent consultation with yourself, installation can begin within 2 - 6 weeks and you could receive your first Feed-in Tariff payment in as little as 6-8 weeks from installation.
In England, changes to the law regarding the installation of solar and other renewable energy technologies were introduced in April 2008. These have lifted the requirements for planning permission for most solar installations and solar systems can now be installed in most dwellings. However, exceptions may still apply for Listed Buildings, Conservation Areas & World Heritage Sites.
