Save Energy Group Host Alan Whitehead MP

19th December 2011

Friday 16th December we were joined by Alan Whitehead, MP for Southampton Test.   Alan is extremely knowledgeable on the subject of renewable energy and very concerned about how we use our energy in the UK, and how we deal with our waste as a society.   As well as his parliamentary and constituency commitments, Alan also chairs two parliamentary groups on renewable energy and sustainable waste, which enable him to ask difficult questions on how we are to meet our energy needs and environmental commitments of the future.

Mike Davies, Commercial Director: “We were delighted that Alan Whitehead MP took the time to visit our Save Energy Group headquarters in Poole, Dorset. He is very knowledgeable and it was an extremely interesting sharing of information.  Alan has even embraced renewable energy at his own home some years earlier.”

As one of the leading renewable energy providers in the South of England, our Technical Directors Paul Randall and Stuart East were able to share details of how the recent changes to the government feed in tariff have been received by our customers, as well as the challenges we faced as installers over the past few weeks.

Discussions also looked at new technologies in the renewable energy marketplace, and Alan was introduced to our Commercial Sales Manager, Wolf Dietrich, who shared details of research into the wind marketplace.

The MP was also able to see one of our energy advisor training programmes in full swing as our Residential Energy Advice Manager, Martyn Rainer, provided another one of his regular updates on thefeed in tariff as well as comprehensive training as we move forward into 2012.

Marketing Manager, Lynda Sparks, presented a solar PV panel to Alan, on behalf of the Directors of Save Energy Group, which acknowledged his efforts in the renewable energy sector and his commitment to looking at fuel poverty issues.
